IPT Breakfast Meeting

IT networking leader Cisco estimates that the number of connected devices worldwide will rise from 30bn today to 50bn by 2020. The Internet of Things represents the next step towards the digitalisation of our society and economy, from smart homes and connected appliances to smart cities and industrial infrastructures. However, as devices continue to produce unprecedented volumes of data, there are still concerns for the significant security challenges and future protection of this data. This breakfast meeting will:

  • Explore the potential of connectivity posed by the continued growth of the Internet of Things
  • Consider the cyber safety risks around collecting mass quantities of data and how we can develop secure architectures through innovative design solutions
  • Discuss how Government regulation can adapt to support secure data-sharing networks in the UK.
