IPT Dinner Discussion

The Government has stated its ambition for the UK to become a leader in autonomous technology. Manufacturing executives have estimated that automated vehicles will first hit the market between 2020-2025. Automated technology in cars could help improve road safety and considerably reduce city congestion and CO2 emissions. With a number of autonomous vehicle tests due to take place in the next year, Industry still faces technical difficulties to ensure automated systems can accurately respond to real world driving situations. This dinner discussion will:

  • Consider how driverless technologies will change automotive business in the future
  • Examine the regulatory and insurance implications of automated vehicles
  • Discuss how the Government can support the UK in remaining at the forefront of the development, construction and implementation of automated vehicle technologies.
