POSTPONED: Industry Visit to Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse

The Industry and Parliament Trust, in association with Airbus, are delighted to invite parliamentarians to join us for a visit to the Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse, France.

The visit, which is being run in association with Airbus, is a fantastic opportunity for parliamentarians to gain a unique insight into one of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers. The visit will explore topics such as manufacturing, skills, technology and innovation. It will also include a tour of the final assembly lines for a range of Airbus’ commercial aircraft and satellites.

Airbus is a global leader in aeronautics, space and related services. In 2016, it generated revenues of €67bn and employed a workforce of around 134,000. Airbus offers the most comprehensive range of passenger airliners from 100 to more than 600 seats. Airbus is also a European leader providing tanker, combat, transport and mission aircraft, as well as Europe’s number one space enterprise and the world’s second largest space business.

Airbus builds on a proud 100-year British heritage, designing and assembling the wings for their commercial aircraft in the UK. Airbus Defence and Space is the UK’s largest space company; a world-leader in cyber security; and the biggest supplier of large aircraft to the RAF, and Airbus Helicopters is the UK’s civil helicopter hub and a key supplier to the Ministry of Defence.  Airbus’ 450 apprentices, collaborations with more than 20 British universities and annual spend of £500M on UK R&D make them a champion of UK innovation and skills.

As one of Airbus’ four home nations, over the past decade, Airbus have invested more than £2bn in their UK operations, which are spread over 25 sites and employ around 15,000 people. Airbus’ activities support a further 100,000 jobs throughout the UK supply chain, where they spend more than £5bn annually.

 The Trip Will Explore:

  • Manufacturing
  • Aviation
  • Transport
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Aerospace and Defence
  • Skills and Apprenticeships
