Sector and Issue Based Fellowships

Parliamentarians can develop their understanding of a specific issue or sector, for example, skills or aerospace, by doing a Fellowship with several organisations.

It is structured around the learning objectives of the parliamentarian and attachments are with businesses of varying sizes with a direct role in the relevant issue or sector.

Cultural Creative Industries Fellowship: Baroness Hamwee

Baroness Hamwee completed her Fellowship in the Cultural and Creative Industries in 2012. Her programme involved visits to the Royal Opera House, Chichester Festival Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Cambridge University, Arts Council, BP, BRIT School and Tate Modern.

Digital Fellowship: Baroness Scott of Needham Market

Digital Fellowship: Baroness Scott of Needham Market

Baroness Scott of Needham Market completed her Fellowship in early 2013. She sought to better understand the UK's broadcasting industry and visited the BBC, Channel 4, ITN, ITV, STV and Arqiva.

Manufacturing Fellowship: Nicky Morgan MP

Manufacturing Fellowship: Nicky Morgan MP

Economic Secretary to the Treasury, MP Nicky Morgan, completed her Fellowship in 2012. Nicky challenged the notion that Britain no longer manufactures and focused her Fellowship on access to finance and skills.

Financial Services Fellowship: Alun Cairns MP

Alun Cairns, MP for Vale of Glamorgan, began a Fellowship in 2011 in the Financial Services sector looking at corporate and retail banking, private equity and venture capital, wealth management and insurance.

Transport Fellowship: Jim Fitzpatrick MP

Transport Fellowship: Jim Fitzpatrick MP

Jim Fitzpatrick MP began his Fellowship in 2012. During his Fellowship he has undertaken attachments with Associated British Ports, Birmingham Airport, Rolls-Royce, Royal Dutch Shell, Thales and TNT Post.
