IPT Dinner Discussion

Regional disparities are now wider in the UK than in other western European nation. The UK has had some success with sector hubs across the UK and large companies have played a key part in regional growth. The Government’s Industrial Strategy Green Paper has outlined opportunities to support productivity and growth across the UK. However, how can the Government ensure that this strategy is fit for every region and all sectors to allow businesses, both big and small, to flourish?  This dinner discussion will:

  • Explore the value that big businesses contribute to UK supply chains and regional economies
  • Identify growth sectors and challenges across each region of the UK
  • Consider how the devolution of specific powers and resources can help target investments in transport infrastructure, housing, skills development, science and technology to fill local gaps.
