IPT Breakfast Meeting

The UK is by far the world’s leading exporter of financial services. The sector creates an annual trade surplus of more than £72bn and contributes £66bn in taxes. The financial and related services employ over 2 million people across the UK, constituting 7% of all UK employment. The continued success of the City as one of the world’s leading business centres and as the principle financial centre in Europe are two central themes in the Brexit debate. However, the question remains; how can the City’s future be secured? This Breakfast Meeting will:

  • Discuss how we can advance the UKs opportunities in top emerging markets as well as identifying valuable opportunities in others
  • Examine the regulatory and economic impact Brexit will have on financial services
  • Consider how the Government can work with the financial services industry to secure interim arrangements and a post-agreement implementation phase to ensure financial stability and continued future business opportunities once the UK exits the EU.
