IPT Breakfast Meeting

According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2016-17, the UK’s overall infrastructure is perceived by international businesses as worse than its competitors. The Government’s modern Industrial Strategy recognises that the construction industry must continue to embrace new technologies whilst also supporting learning and development for a skilled workforce. The strategy aims to help upgrade the UK’s infrastructure and drive economic growth by creating opportunities for people and business across the country. This breakfast meeting will:

  • Look at current infrastructure investment and the importance of aligning national and local priorities
  • Explore the importance of funding to improve the training and recruitment of a talented and diverse construction workforce
  • Consider new construction methods and the steps lenders are taking to prepare for such investments
  • Discuss how the Government will secure a clear, long-term direction for the UK’s national infrastructure strategy to continue driving efficiency and international competitiveness.
