IPT Breakfast Meeting

Diversity can be crucial for innovation and success, as outlined in a recent paper produced by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The need for the UK Government and industry to focus on the issue of diversity has been highlighted by statistics which reveal that only 9% of the total engineering workforce is female. This breakfast meeting will:

  • Consider why only 25% of female graduates in the UK pursue a career in engineering
  • Hear from engineering employers about the benefits of diversity
  • Discuss how the UK can increase the number of people with engineering skills and how this can be applied to other sectors with a gender imbalance.
