IPT Dinner Discussion

In January of this year, the Government highlighted public procurement as one of the key pillars in their Industrial Strategy Green Paper. With the current public sector spend sitting at approximately £268bn per year, the government is often the main customer as well as the regulator for a number of sectors. This presents opportunities for the UK to drive improved outcomes, particularly around innovation and technology adoption. However, how can we utilise these opportunities to catalyse UK economic growth? This dinner discussion will:

  • Explore the barriers facing innovative public procurement
  • Consider how better UK procurement practices can support economic growth
  • Discuss how the private sector can support Government to drive innovation through public procurement.
