The IPT published the final report of the Sustainability Commission in February 2015, working in collaboration with the University of Birmingham Environment & Energy, Economics and Management Cluster.
The Sustainability Commission investigated what the UK Parliament and future governments can do to better understand sustainability, and create an environment to promote sustainable business practices. The Commission consisted of a series of six policy based and case study led briefings within the Houses of Parliament, with the final report encapsulating the themes that emerged from the sessions. The final report also serves as a guide of best practice, to be used as a springboard for other businesses to adopt more sustainable businesses models.
"The Commission is about an evidence based mind set. People will share their perspectives on various issues around sustainability. It’s about shifting the perspective on sustainability from something we can’t afford to do, to something we can’t afford not to do.”
Professor Stephen Brammer, Professor of Management at Birmingham Business School, and Co-Chair of Sustainability Commission.
