IPT Breakfast Meeting

The Innovation Principle outlines that whenever policy or regulatory decisions are under consideration, the impact on innovation should also be fully assessed and addressed. Innovation has been labelled as one of the most important drivers of societal prosperity and according to research by the Confederation of British Industry, 70% of UK firms are planning to increase or maintain their spending levels on innovation following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union. This breakfast meeting will:

  • Explore the core principles of innovation and what can be learned from the most innovative successes
  • Look at how innovation principles can positively contribute to UK policy making
  • Consider the importance of technical skills and innovation principles for productive and sustainable business post-Brexit
  • Discuss how Government spending on research and development in innovation can help UK businesses to remain competitive and lead within global markets.
