IPT Dinner Discussion

In January 2017, the Government outlined its approach for delivering affordable energy and clean growth as part of the Industrial Strategy. Key areas for UK energy policy that were outlined in the paper focus on affordable energy, changes to the energy infrastructure and harnessing industrial opportunities from new energy technologies. The success of this strategy will determine living standards and enable the UK to capitalise on its strengths in the energy industries to drive economic growth and succeed within global markets. This dinner discussion will:

  • Review the opportunities for future growth within the UK energy sector
  • Explore how the energy industry can shift to a low carbon economy in a way that minimises the cost to UK businesses, taxpayers and consumers
  • Discuss how the key components of the Industrial Strategy will ensure the UK has a joined-up and sustainable approach to energy policy.
